Greg Olsen In Contract Negotiations With Bills, Redskins & Seahawks

Adam Schefter reports that free agent TE Greg Olsen has wrapped up his visits and is now negotiating a contract with each of the three teams he visited with — the Bills, Redskins and Seahawks.

Both Washington and Seattle have major needs at tight end that signing Olsen would help address. While Seattle is seemingly more primed as a contender, Olsen would be able to reunite with former HC Ron Rivera in Washington.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Olsen to a contract will not factor into a team’s 2021 compensatory picks, given that he was released.

Olsen, 34, is a former first-round pick of the Bears back in 2007. He played four years for Chicago before he was traded to the Panthers in 2011.

Olsen was in the final year of a four-year, $27.75 million contract when he agreed to a two-year, $17 million extension back in 2018. He was set to make a base salary of $6.6 million for the 2020 season.

In 2019, Olsen appeared in 14 games for the Panthers and caught 52 passes for 597 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

We have him included in our Top 100 – 2020 Free Agents list.
