Jets Promote LBs Victor Ochi & Julian Sanford, Place LB Erin Henderson On NFI, TE Braedon Bowman On I.R.

According to Brian Costello, the Jets promoted linebackers Victor Ochi and Julian Stanford from their practice squad and placed LB Erin Henderson on the reserve/non-football injury list due to an illness.

  • New York also placed TE Braedon Bowman on injured reserve with a knee injury, according to Costello.

Henderson, 29, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent back in 2008. He spent six years in Minnesota before signing on with the Jets as an unrestricted free agent in April of last year.

The Jets signed him to a two-year, $5 million contract back in March that included $750,000 in guarantees.

In 2016, Henderson has appeared in five games for the Jets and recorded 21 total tackles up to this point. Pro Football Focus has him graded as the No. 68 overall linebacker out of 83 qualifying players.

Ochi, 22, wound up signing on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of stony Brook back in May. He was unfortunately cut loose coming out of the preseason, as the Ravens’ trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

During his career at Stony Brook, Ochi recorded 135 tackles, 19.5 sacks, 34 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles over the course of 35 games played.

Stanford, 26, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Wagner back in 2012. He lasted over a year in Jacksonville before joining the Lions during the 2013 season.

Stanford played briefly for the Buccaneers last year before signing on to the Jets’ practice squad and later returning on a future/reserve contract.

In 2016, Stanford has appeared in three games and recorded a single tackle for the Jets.
