Jets Waive OT Sean Hooey

The New York Jets announced Thursday that they’ve placed OT Sean Hooey on waivers.

Hooey, 24, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati back in 2013.

However, he lasted just a few months with the team before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season and later added to St. Louis’ practice squad.

He spent the entire 2013 and 2014 season on the Rams’ taxi squad before signing a future/reserve contract with the Jets back in January.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Hooey will free up $435,000 in available cap space while creating no dead money.

Hooey has yet to appear in an NFL game.
