Lions Hire Giants Exec. Matt Harriss As VP Of Football Administration

Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com reports that the the Lions have hired former Giants director of football operations Matt Harriss as their new VP of football administration.

There was a report that the Lions had interest in Dolphins executive vice president of football administration Dawn Aponte for the position, but she is remaining in Miami.

Harriss joins new Lions GM Bob Quinn in the team’s front office and gives them some added experience negotiating contracts and managing a salary cap.

 

Harriss spent 10 seasons with the Giants in their football operations department working with assistant GM Kevin Abrams on all aspects of the salary cap, CBA compliance and player contract negotiations.
