One NFL executive who plans to target Packers QB Matt Flynn told Jason Cole of Yahoo Sportsย thatย โyou canโt do anything until you get a final answer from Manning,โ in regards to pursuing Flynn.
The exec believes that Flynn will command a similar deal to the one that Kevin Kolb signed with the Cardinals.
“Unless Iโm way off, Flynn is going to get a contract that looks a lot like Kolbโs,” the exec said. “Thatโs the price of doing business in this league.”
Kolb wound up signing a reported six-year contract worth $65 million andย includedย $22 million in guarantees but that total wound up beingย only $12 million.
It will be interesting to see what kind of market shapes for Flynn once Manning signs with one of the prospective teams.
