Eli Manning

• Jordan Raanan of Newark Star-Ledger writes that contract negotiations between the Giants and QB Eli Manning could go on for some time, as it doesn’t appear as though they’re even remotely close to an agreement.

Lache Seastrunk

• Former Cowboys RB Lache Seastrunk passed through waivers unclaimed on Friday and is now free to sign with a team of his choosing.

Bills

• Bills WR Chris Hogan sustained a knee sprain in last night’s preseason game and will be sidelined for two-four weeks. (Ross Jones)

• Browns HC Mike Pettine told reporters on Friday that they view their quarterback situation the same today as they did going into last night’s preseason game, which is Josh McCown is the team’s starter. (Mary Kay Cabot)

Chargers

• The Chargers are expected to hold first-round RB Melvin Gordon out of Saturday’s preseason game against the Cardinals, as they’re playing it safe with his ankle injury. (Michael Gehlken)
