We’ve been watching the rumors surrounding Charlie Weis grow from pure speculation to a “likely” scenario. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that his sources have indicated that Charlie Weis is “likely” to leave the Kansas City Chiefs and become the offensive coordinator for the Florida Gators.
It’s really interesting that a team that has basically done a complete 180 on offense would end up losing their offensive coordinator so suddenly. This news helps to support an earlier report from Chris Mortensen that Josh McDaniels could find himself coaching Matt Cassel come next season.
Mortensen has since tweeted that Haley’s strong oversight of the offense and Matt Cassel is likely responsible for Weis’s decision.
