NESN.com is reporting that Arizona Cardinals may be willing to trade Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald “for the right price.”
NESN.com goes on to explain that the Cardinals are not actively shopping Fitzgerald and adds that they’re not certain that the Cardinals have had any serious talks about the idea.
Despite the lack of substances here, the idea would make sense if the Cardinals are able to recover a package that includes a first-round pick and a quarterback that can step in help them. Fitzgerald has already mentioned that doesn’t want to stick around for another rebuilding process in Arizona and his talent is enough to entice teams to consider the idea.
The problem will trading your best player on offensive is that you have would have just nullified any chances of making the post season by adding a capable quarterback to your roster. In other words, getting rid of Fitzgerald starts the rebuilding process.
