Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post takes a look at some of the running back options for the Miami Dolphins. Volin lists Darren Sproles, Michael Bush, Kevin Smith, Willis McGahee and Jerious Norwood as guys that the Dolphins could consider.
“We also expect the Dolphins to take a good, long look at Sproles,” Volin writes, “a six-year veteran who has four career kick/punt return touchdowns and is a terrific option as a third-down back both for his speed and pass-catching ability.”
Sproles seems like a running back that a number of teams will consider bringing in as a third-down back. Add in the fact that he can contribute in the return game and he’s going to get more than the four-year $12.5 million deal that the Bears gave to Chester Taylor. The Dolphins will still have to find a No. 1 running back. Nearly every mock draft that I have seen so far has the Dolphins taking Alabama’s Mark Ingram at No. 15 overall.
