Early speculation in regards to who the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were considering using their franchise tag on had linebacker Barrett Ruud and guard Davin Joseph as the obvious targets.
From Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune recent report, it appears that the Buc’s aren’t willing to pay the amount of money that it would cost them tag either Ruud or Joseph. Kaufman also mentions that Tampa Bay will allow them to test the free market which isn’t the greatest sign that either will be returning to the team in 2011.
It’s still really early into the offseason and there isn’t a new CBA in place so there’s still time for things to change but as of now it appears that Tampa could be getting even younger next season.
