Rob Demovsky of ESPN.comย reports that the Packers have no plans to release veteran TEย Andrew Quarlessย even after he was recently arrested forย for firing a gun twice into the air.
Aย Packers spokesperson told reporters that they were “aware of the matter involving Andrew Quarless and are in the process of gathering more information. We will withhold further comment.”
It’s worth mentioning thatย Quarless is subject toย discipline from the NFL under theirย personal conduct policy. There’s a chance thatย Quarless could end up on theย Commissioner Exempt List if formal charges are filed.
Quarless, 26, still has one year remaining on his Signed a two-year, $3 million contract, which includes a base salary of $1.3 million to go along with a $200,000 roster bonus and a $75,000 workout bonus.
There had been talk that Quarless could be cut loose following this incident, but it appears as though the Packers are willing to give him another shot.
In 2014, Quarless appeared in all 16 games for the Packers and caught 29 passes for 323 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
