Packers QBย Aaron Rodgers was carted off to the locker room after he re-injured his calf injury during the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Lions.
As of now, the Packers have said he return is questionable, but Rodgers was clearly in a great deal of pain, even though he managed to throw a touchdown pass on that play.
Former NFL physician, David Chao, mentions that although he can’t determine the severity of Rodgers’ injury, he believes itย could “easily linger beyond a bye week.”
- Chao adds that Rodgers could still play through the injury, but hisย mobility could be impactedย throughout the playoffs.
- However, Chao does not expect this injury to be season-ending.
Green Bay is playing for the NFC North, so a win over the Lions would be crucial for Rodgers as it would give him an extra week to heal.
Matt Flynn has replaced Rodgers as the team’s starting quarterback, but the Packers did active Scott Tolzien for today’s game.
We’ll have more updates regarding Rodgers’ injury as the news is available.
