According to Ian Rapoport, Packers TE Jimmy Graham is not expected back in Green Bay in 2020.
This move doesn’t come as a big surprise, as Graham’s production declined significantly this past season. Graham has not yet been officially released, but according to this that move is only a matter of time.
According to Over The Cap, the Packers can save $8 million in cap space with a dead money hit of $3.66 million.
Graham, 33, is a former third-round pick of the Saints back in 2010. He spent five years in New Orleans before he was traded to the Seahawks in return for C Max Unger and a first-round pick.
Graham played out the final year of his four-year, $40 million contract before agreeing to a three-year, $30 million deal with the Packers in 2018. He is currently slated to make a $7,450,000 base salary in the final year of the agreement.
In 2019, Graham appeared in all 16 games for the Packers and caught 38 passes for 447 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 44 tight end out of 66 qualifying players.
