Patriots Close Facility Again After Positive COVID-19 Test

According to Adam Schefter, the Patriots have closed their team facility again Sunday after learning a player tested positive from Saturday’s round of testing.

This puts New England’s game for Monday night against the Broncos, which had already been rescheduled, in even further doubt.

However, as of now, Schefter reports the league doesn’t necessarily plan to move the game and is testing more this morning.

Tom Pelissero reported that contact tracing identified multiple Patriots players as close/high-risk contacts with CB Stephon Gilmore, who tested positive earlier in the week.

According to Pelissero, more positive tests wouldn’t be a surprise. However, it also wouldn’t necessarily mean canceling games. The NFL plans to monitor the situation to see if changes are needed.

The NFL had to postpone the Chiefs vs. Patriots game last week after QB Cam Newton‘s positive test late in the week.

We’ll have more regarding COVID-19 testing and possible schedule changes as the news is available.
