Patriots Signing K Mike Nugent

According to Mike Garafolo, the Patriots are expected to sign K Mike Nugent to their roster.

New England had been working out various options to replace Stephen Gostkowski, placed on injured reserve yesterday, and Nugent ends up being the final decision.

Nugent, 37, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2005. He spent the past six seasons with the Bengals and was in the final year of his two-year, $3.5 million contract when the Bengals cut him loose in December of 2016.

The Giants signed Nugent to a contract during the season but he was cut loose soon after and caught on with the Bears. The Raiders signed Nugent to a contract during the 2018 preseason before he eventually landed on injured reserve.

In 2018, Nugent appeared in three games and converted all six field goal attempts and made four of five extra point tries for the Raiders.
