The New England Patriots officially waived S Dewey McDonald and promoted LB Eric Martin to their active roster on Thursday, according to the NFL transactions release.
- The Patriots also signed DT Robert Thomas to their practice squad.
McDonald, 25, signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of California (PA) back in May of last year. Since then, he’s been on and off of the team’s practice squad.
The Patriots wound up claiming McDonald off of waivers from the Colts, who cut him loose a few weeks ago to make room for WR Quan Bray.
This season, McDonald has appeared in two games this season and recorded a single tackle .
