Norton coached the linebackers with Seattle since 2010. ย He was on the University of Southern California staff before that.
Norton will be joining new Head Coach Jack Del Rio, and as Bill Williamson of ESPN reports, Del Rio is likely to retain a big role in the coaching of the defense. ย This could make it an ideal fit for Norton’s first coordinator job.
It seemed that Oakland initially looked at the college ranks for a coordinator, but Brett McMurphy reported that target Todd Grantham chose to remain at the University of Louisville.
Jason La Canfora adds that he hears there could be more changes coming to the Seattle defensive staff which has already lost its coordinator Dan Quinn to Atlanta. ย
