The Oakland Raiders officially signed LS Andrew East to a futures deal for the 2018 season on Friday.
As of now, the Raiders have signed 11 players to futures deals including:
- DE Fadol Brown
- WR Keon Hatcher
- CB Darius Hillary
- RB Elijah Hood
- CB Tevin Mitchel
- LS Bradley Northnagel
- DE Joby Saint Fleur
- G Jordan Simmons
- DT Shakir Soto
- DB Shaquille Richardson
- LS Andrew East
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
East, 26, originally signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt back in May of 2015. He lasted just a few months in Kansas City before he was among their final roster cuts.
The Seahawks later signed East to a future/reserve contract in January. However, Seattle cut him looseย just a few months later.
East has brief stints with the Raiders and Rams the last two years before returning to Oakland this summer. The Raiders elected to cut him loose at the start of the regular season.
East has yet to appear in an NFL game.
