Tim Graham of the ESPN AFC East blog posted an article about Ricky Williams andย his future with the Miami Dolphins. Both he and Ronnie Brown will be free agents after this coming year and with the injuries that Brown has suffered and Williams age, the Miami backfield could look drastically different come 2011.
When asked about his future with the team Williams said “Ideally, right now, I would like to get a year extension with the Miami Dolphins, play this year and next year and then really focus on my schooling.”
Despite Ricky’s age, head coach Tony Sparano has been impressed with Williams’ conditioning which has even impressed the likes of Bill Parcels. Not many 33 year-old running-backs are turning heads like Williams which should bode well for him come this offseason. The final year of his contract will pay him $4.35 million.
