Drew Brees‘s agent Tom Condon confirmed to the New Orleans Times-Picayune that he met with Saint GM Mickey Loomis on Tuesday to discuss a longterm deal. Condon added that they “we spent a good deal of time together and had a substantial talk,”
This is good news for Saints fans as it appeared that talks between the two sides were going to be put on hold until after the season. Brees current makes $7.4 million for the 2011 season so there’s a long way to go before they get to average salary of other top quarterbacks like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
