The New Orleans Saints officially placed RB Dwayne Washington on the COVID-19 list.
The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.
Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.
Washington is one of just four NFL players currently on the COVID-19 list.
Washington, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Lions back in 2016. He spent two years in Detroit before being waived as they cut their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason.
Washington later signed on to the Saints’ practice squad at the start of the 2018 regular season. He was promoted to their active roster and managed to make the 53-man roster last year.
The Saints re-signed Washington this past April.
In 2019, Washington appeared in all 16 games for the Saints and rushed for 60 yards on eight carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with one reception for six yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also totaled 12 kick return yards.
