The New Orleans Saints have signed veteran DT Kevin Williams to one-year contract and placed TE Harold Spears on waivers.
Williams worked out for the Saints back in May, which appeared to be his only option outside of possibly returning to the Seahawks.
Williams, 34, was among the best available defensive linemen in free agency and should give New Orleans some much needed depth up front.
In 2014, appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks last year and recorded 29 tackles, two sacks, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has Williams rated as the No. 40 defensive tackle in the league out 81 qualifying players.
