Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the NFL plans to reschedule the Steelers vs. Titans game in Week 4 for later in the season after an additional Titans player and one personnel member tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
The NFL had been considering moving the game to Monday, but it will no longer be played in Week 4.
Pelissero adds that the Titans facility will remain closed and they will have no in-person activities indefinitely after the additional positive tests.
Here’s the full statement from the NFL:
“The Pittsburgh-Tennessee game scheduled for Week 4 will be rescheduled to later this season after one additional Titans player and one personnel member tested positive for COVID-19 today. An announcement of the new game date will be made shortly.
“The decision to postpone the game was made to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel. The Titans facility will remain closed and the team will continue to have no in-person activities until further notice.”
Tennessee has had a number of players and coaches test positive in recent days and it’s clear now that they’re dealing with more than just an isolated outbreak.
We’ll have more on when the Steelers vs. Titans contest will be played as the news is available.
