ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported over the weekend that the New Orleans Saints and their franchise QB Drew Brees are not any closer to reaching an agreement than they were a few weeks ago.
Reports have indicated that the two sides have been far apart throughout the ongoing negotiations and talks could very well be put on hold in the coming weeks to limit the amount of distractions.
There’s no way that New Orleans would allow Brees to walk at the end of 2011 considering his value to the franchise but at some point they’re going to have to pay him like the top quarterback that he is.
