The Houston Texans announced Wednesday that they’ve designated OLB Brennan Scarlett to return from injured reserve and signed G Beau Benzschawel to their practice squad.
Here’s the Texans updated practice squad:

- WR Damion Ratley
- DB Jonathan Owens

This opens a three-week window of time for the Texans to activate him from injured reserve and add him to their 53-man roster.
Scarlett, 27, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury before being activated later on.
Scarlett returned to the Texans on a one-year extension worth $3.75 million last year.
In 2020, Scarlett has appeared in eight games for the Texans and recorded 24 tackles.
