Chris Mortensen reports that Todd McShay has decided to remain at ESPN and is removing himself from consideration for a front office job with the Jets.
McShay came up as a name to watch to join Joe Douglas‘ front office staff with the Jets, given that they have ties to one another dating back to when they both attended the University of Richmond.
“Joe is considering multiple options and I’m one of the options,” McShay said last week.
Former Browns GM Phil Savage has also been mentioned as a possibility for the Jets’ front office among others.
McShay, 42, began working at ESPN back in 2006 as a football analyst, providing in-depth scouting information on college football prospects. He regularly appears alongside Mel Kiper during ESPN’s draft coverage.
We’ll have more regarding the Jets as the news is available.
