Patriots In Talks With Dante Scarnecchia About Returning As OL Coach

Mike Reiss of ESPN reports that the Patriots are in discussions with veteran offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia about a return to the coaching staff in 2016.

A source close to the situation tells Reiss that talks with Scarnecchia are far enough along to think there’s a “good chance” he’ll be back in 2016.

This comes just a few weeks after New England fired offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo, who joined the team after Scarnecchia announced his retirement a few years ago.

Scarnecchia, 67, has been one of the most well respected offensive line coaches and his return would likely be a big boost to a Pats’ offensive line unit that really struggled in 2015.

We’ll have more regarding Scarnecchia possibly returning to New England as the news is available.
