Giants Signing Patriots LT Nate Solder To Four-Year, $62M Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Giants are expected to sign Patriots LT Nate Solder to a contract.

  • According to Rapoport, Solder receives a four-year, $62 million contract from the Giants that will make him the highest-paid left tackle in the NFL. The contract also includes $35 million guaranteed.

Solder reportedly had interest from the Browns and Texans, but it appears as though the Giants went all out to get him under contract.

The Patriots wanted to keep Solder before it became clear that the bidding was just too high for them.

Solder, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Patriots back in 2011. He’s played all seven seasons for the Patriots and is now in position to test the free agent market for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Solder appeared in 16 games for the Patriots and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 33 offensive tackle out of 85 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
