Dolphins CB Brent Grimes told reporters on Sunday that he would like to return to Miami next season.
“I like it here. I like the coaches, I like the players and it’s a good team,” Grimes said, via ESPN.com. “Obviously, we didn’t finish how we wanted to and close out the season well. But I just let my agents handle everything. If [the Dolphins] want to keep me here, they’ll see how it goes.”
Grimes was asked whether or not he would be open to returning under the franchise tag to which he responded; “that’s not what anybody wants,” per Armando Salguero.
Grimes, 30, signed a one-year deal worth $5 million with the Dolphins last year after he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in 2012. Since then, Grimes has returned to form and was just voted to the Pro Bowl.
It would make sense for Grimes to target a multi-year deal given that he missed out on a huge opportunity to cash in last year.
We have Grimes listed as the No. 37 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
