Cowboys Re-Sign G Jonathan Cooper To One-Year Deal

Todd Archer and Adam Schefter are reporting that the Cowboys have reached an agreement with G Jonathan Cooper on a one-year deal.

Cooper, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2013. The Cardinals traded him to the Patriots as part of the Chandler Jones trade. Although, New England declined to pick up Cooper’s fifth-year option and later cut him loose last season.

The Browns later claimed him off of waivers from New England not long after. Cooper caught on with the Cowboys during the season and finished out the year in Dallas.

He was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Cooper appeared in five games for the Browns, Patriots and Cowboys.
