Cowboys Release DB Rod Sweeting From I.R. With Settlement

The Dallas Cowboys have officially released DB Rod Sweeting from the injured reserve list on Friday with a settlement.

Sweeting, 24, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech back in 2013. He lasted jsut over a year in New Orleans before he was waived and signed by the Dolphins.

The Bills wound up signing Sweeting to a future/reserve contract back in December of last year.

Dallas later claimed Sweeting off of waivers from the Bills before cutting him loose a few weeks back.

He hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2013 season when he was playing for the Saints and recorded three tackles over the course of nine games.
