Dolphins Sign WR Danny Amendola To Two-Year, $12M Deal

According to Dan Hellie, Patriots free agent WR Danny Amendola is expected to sign with the Dolphins.

  • Peter Schrager reports that Amendola receives a two-year, $12 million contract with $8.25 million guaranteed.

This is a stunner.

Amendola had taken less money to remain with the Patriots the past few years, but it looks like he’s finally ready to secure more money from another team.

Amendola, 32, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech back in 2008. He spent over a year in Dallas before eventually signing on with the Eagles.

Amendola played a number of seasons for the Rams before the Patriots signed him to a five-year contract back in 2013. He finished out the final year of his two-year, $7.35 million contract and made a base salary of $6 million in 2017 to go along with $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses.

In 2017, Amendola appeared in 15 games for the Patriots and caught 61 passes for 659 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
