Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans did not sign free agent S Aaron Williams following his recent visit.
According to Wilson, it’s “status quo at safety for now” in regards to the Texans.
Williams previously visited with the Jaguars a month ago but also left Jacksonville without a contract.
Ian Rapoport previously reported that Williams is healthy and ready to play after some concerns about his NFL future, due to a serious neck injury he sustained.
Williams, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Bills back in 2011. He was entering the fourth year of his five-year, $26,077,844 million contract and set to make a base salary of $3.6 million for the 2017 season when the Bills released him in a move that freed up $1,775,000 of available cap space back in March.
In 2016, Williams appeared in seven games and recorded 20 tackles, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and five pass defenses.
