Josh McDaniels Expected To Hire Jake Peetz & Matt Eberflus As Coordinators

Jason La Canfora reports that Josh McDaniels is expected to hire Cowboys LBs coach Matt Eberflus as his defensive coordinator and Raiders QBs coach Jake Peetz as his offensive coordinator with the Colts once he officially agrees to a deal.

The expectation has been that McDaniels was going to hire Eberflus to run his defense if he accepted a head-coaching job, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

Peetz, 34, began his NFL career with the Jaguars as a scouting assistant back in 2008. He eventually worked his way up to offensive assistant before taking jobs at Alabama and with the Redskins.

The Raiders hired him as their senior offensive assistant in 2015 and eventually promoted him to QBs coach last year.

Eberflus began coaching in the collegiate ranks where he spent 17 seasons before taking over as the Browns linebackers coach.

The Cowboys later hired him to coach their linebackers in 2011 and he eventually added passing game coordinator to his title in 2016.
