By designating Hamilton to return from injured reserve, it officially opens a three-week window of time for the Raiders to add him to their active roster or he’ll spend the duration of the 2017 season on injured reserve.
Hamilton, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina State back in 2016. He stands to make base salaries of $540,000and $630,000 over the next two years of the contract.
The Raiders placed him on injured reserve last month with an ankle injury.
In 2017, Hamilton has appeared in five games for the Raiders and recorded one tackle and no interceptions.
