Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer believes that the upcoming season will be Greg Hardy‘s final in a Carolina Panthers uniform.
Hardy is set to make $13.1 million this season pursuant to the franchise tag, but the likelihood of pursuing a long-term deal with the Panthers looks increasingly slim.
This should come as no surprise given that Hardyย was convicted of assaulting and threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend last week.
- Person writes that Hardy has appealed the conviction, and will be seeking a jury trial, which will likely not take place until after the upcoming season.
As a result, an NFL suspension is not likely this year, though Carolina could suspend Hardy a maximum of four games for conduct detrimental to the team.
We have Hardy listed as the No. 3 player in our Top 25 – 2015 Free Agents List.
