Browns
Browns’ DE Adrian Clayborn drew praise from HC Kevin Stefanski for his sack against the Bengals, despite being injured on the play.
“Adrian, it was fun to see him out there early in the game,” said Stefanski, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. โIt was unfortunate that he got injured there, but you kind of see what he has done in his career and what he is capable of affecting the pass game.โ
Browns’ CB Kevin Johnson is returning from a lacerated liver and may be expected to play a role for the team if cornerbacks Greedy Williams and Denzel Ward are unable to go, as Ward was listed on the injury report due to a groin issue.
Browns DC Joe Woods is also planning on giving more snaps to S Ronnie Harrison, who gave up a touchdown against the Bengals.
“He loves football,” Woods said. โThat dude practices with his hair on fire. I was in there taking snaps as scout team quarterback, and man, he was scaring me in terms of what he was doing. He brings that type of presence to our defense, but you donโt want to put him on the field until you feel like he knows enough to have success, because if he goes out there and heโs not comfortable and doesnโt execute, now youโre kind of working backwards. Heโll be in the picture more this week and the upcoming weeks, but we definitely want to put him in there based on what we know he can handle.โ
Browns’ WR Jarvis Landry also said that he is very close to being fully recovered from his hip surgery but still isn’t there yet.
“Iโm still working through things,” Landry said. “Iโm giving it my best, giving it my all when I am out there. Obviously, whatever my 100 percent is on Sunday, thatโs what Iโm giving. The further I get away from surgery, the better I begin to feel. Thatโs just one of those things that whatever comes up, I just have to figure out a way to try to fix and approach Sunday.”
Colts
- Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan says that Colts’ TE Jack Doyle is officially listed as questionable for Week 3 but was a full participant in practice.
- Bowen also says that CB Rock Ya-Sin will miss a second straight week due to a sudden stomach illness that required surgery. It had been speculated that Ya-Sin has his appendix removed, but the Colts are unwilling to provide any further details about the operation.
Ravens
- Ravens HC John Harbaugh said that CB Tavon Young (ACL) not being placed on the injured reserve is just “procedural” and they can wait until Monday afternoon before officially opening up his roster spot. (Jeff Zrebeic)
