AFC Notes: Dolphins, Jaguars, Patriots

Dolphins

  • According to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, Utah State QB Jordan Love is “absolutely an option” for the Dolphins in round one.
  • Beasley says there’s a growing belief within the Dolphins that some team such as the Chargers at No. 6 or the Panthers at No. 7 will trade up to select Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa.
  • Beasley’s sense from conversations at the Combine is that the Dolphins worked hard to build all of their draft capital and they don’t want to part with it if possible, which means Miami could elect to stand pat at No. 5 overall and consider Justin Herbert or Love.

Jaguars

Patriots

  • According to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, the Patriots have been in communication with S Devin McCourty. The Patriots want McCourty to return next season, but the collective bargaining agreement has kept formal discussions from taking place.
  • North Dakota State edge rusher Derrek Tuszka said via Christian D’Andrea that the Patriots have shown interest in him at the combine.
