Bears Place G Kyle Long On IR, Promote RB Taquan Mizzell

The Chicago Bears announced Saturday that they have placed G Kyle Long on injured reserve and promoted RB Taquan Mizzell to their active roster.

Long was expected to miss 6-8 weeks after suffering a foot injury in Week 8, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Long, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Bears back in 2013. He’s currently in the third year of his six-year, $50.358 million contract that included $30 million and stands to make a base salary of $6.9 million this season.

In 2018, Long has appeared in seven games for the Bears and Pro Football Focus rates him as the No. 30 overall guard out of 74 qualifying players
