Bill Parcells Willing To Take The Saints Job?

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen mentioned on this mornings’ SportsCenter that his “gut feeling” is that Bill Parcells will end up becoming the Saints’ head coach for the 2012 season.

“My gut feeling is, he’ll do it,” said Mort. “… That he’ll do it if they reach out to him.”

Pacells has already met with Sean Payton and GM Mickey Loomis so it’s really just a matter of time before they officially offer him the position. The problem here is that the Saints will have to comply with the Rooney Rule which requires them to interview a minority candidate.

Payton comes from the Bill Parcells’ coaching tree and is as close to him as anyone, so you’d have to think that he’d give more consideration to this job considering their history together.
