The Buffalo Bills are signing veteran CB Vontae Davis to a contract on Monday, according to Ben Volin.

  • Adam Schefter adds that Davis’ receives a one-year contract from the Bills.

Davis also implied via his Twitter account that he is signing with the Bills:

In total, Davis visited with five teams including the Bills, Browns, 49ers, Raiders and Dolphins the past few weeks, but it appears as though Buffalo proved to be his best opportunity in the end.

The Colts elected to waive Davis back in November after a falling out with the team, due to differing opinions about his injury. Davis wound up sitting out the remainder of the season, even though there was some buzz that he could catch on with a team for the playoffs.

Davis, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2009. He spent three years in Miami before he was traded to the Colts for the 2012 season.

Davis was in the final year of his four-year, $36 million contract that included $20 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2017 season when the Colts waived him.

In 2017, Davis appeared in four games and recorded 17 tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.
