It’s amazing to see the speculation that comes from one player being released but the effects of Peyton Manning‘s availability are starting to include teams that are not even in the bidding for his services.
Mike Klis of the Denver Post writes that the Broncos would “have to be interested” in QB Kevin Kolb if he becomes available in the coming weeks.
Arizona is believed to have strong interest in Manning but they’ll have to address Kolb’s pending $7 million roster bonus at point, should they choose to pursue Manning.
Adding Kolb would give Tim Tebow some added incentive to improve his overall game throughout training camp while giving the Broncos a decent backup if something were to happen to Tebow. The only issue here is that Kolb will not be running the “Tebow offense” so they would have to be able to adjust things to fit his skill set.
