The Denver Broncos quarterback situation has drawn a lot of interest throughout the nonexistent offseason. Kyle Orton has been rumored to be on the trading block for a good majority of the time and Tim Tebow is seen as the favorite to start opening day. Brady Quinn has said that he would like a shot at starting but that idea seems like even more of a longshot now that so much of the offseason has been missed.
Steve Wyche of NFL.com tackles the topic by suggesting the job is Tebow’s to lose.
โI have talked to enough people . . . to comfortably say that unlessย Tim Tebow gets hurt in training camp or is absolutely awful, the starting job is his to lose,โ Wyche said. ย โThey want to find out if Tebow can play.โ
Denver isย supposedlyย looking for aย third-round pick in return for Kyle Orton but it’s hard to gauge the specific interest in Orton since the rumors surrounding him have died down as of late.
Wyche suggests that the Broncos may consider bringing in Jake Delhomme if they end up dealing Orton but that would require the Cleveland Browns to release him before he is back with his former head coach John Fox.
