Broncos Sign K Brandon McManus To Practice Squad, Release DE Gerald Rivers

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Broncos have signed K Brandon McManus to their practice squad and released DE Gerald Rivers.

Denver sent a a conditional seventh-round draft pick to the Giants in return for McManus before the start of the season after Matt Prater was suspended for four games.

The Broncos made the decision to parts ways with Prater once he was ready to be reinstated and go with McManus as their place kicker, but he ultimately struggled, converting 9 of 13 field goal attempts (69.2%) and has missed both of his attempts from 50 yards or more.

This prompted the Broncos to sign veteran Connor Barth to a contract last week. Barth wound up making 5-of-5 field goal attempt in his Week 13 Broncos debut.
