Broncos Waive TE Richard Gordon, Promote RB Kapri Bibbs

The Denver Broncos announced Saturday that they’ve promoted RB Kapri Bibbs from practice squad and placed TE Richard Gordon waivers.

Gordon, 28, was taken in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Raiders. He spent two years with Oakland before he was waived and later caught on with the Steelers.

The Chiefs re-signed him as an unrestricted free agent in March before later releasing him from injured reserve with a settlement.

Gordon recently signed with the Broncos, so this is an interesting move on their part, especially considering that it cost them TE Mitchell Henry, who signed to the Packers’ practice squad this week.

In 2014, Gordon appeared in five games for the Chiefs, but didn’t record a single statistic.

Bibbs, 22, signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State back in May of last year. Since then, he’s been on and off of the team’s practice squad.

Bibbs has yet to appear in an NFL game.
