Broncos Worked Out 8 Players Including CB Chimdi Chekwa & DE/OLB Jonathan Massaquoi

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Broncos brought in eight players for workouts on Tuesday including CB Chimdi Chekwa and DE/OLB Jonathan Massaquoi.

Denver also worked out LB Thomas Keiser, DT Devon Still, DT Phil Taylor, DL DeAngelo Tyson, LB Dekoda Watson, and CB Shaun Prater (signed).

Chekwa, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2011. He re-signed with the Raiders back in May of last year, but was not tendered a contract as a restricted free agent this past offseason.

Chekwa briefly joined the Patriots for a few more before later returning to the Raiders following this year’s NFL Draft. Oakland wound up releasing him from injured reserve in recent weeks.

In 2014, Chekwa appeared in 10 games for the Raiders and recorded 16 tackles and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 89 total snaps last season.

Massaquoi, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2012. He spent a little over three years in Atlanta before he was claimed and later claimed by the Titans back in March.

Unfortunately for Massaquoi, he was cut loose at the start of the season, as Tennessee trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

In 2014, he appeared in 15 games and recorded 22 tackles, two sacks, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has Massaquoi rated as the No. 23 defensive end in a 4-3 defense last year out of 59 qualifying players.
