According to Adam Schefter, the Browns are expected to interview 49ers passing-game coordinator Mike LaFleur for their head coaching vacancy this weekend.
Schefter adds Cleveland also plans to interview San Francisco run-game coordinator Mike McDaniel for the position.
Mike is the younger brother of Packers HC Matt LaFleur. The 49ers blocked him from interviewing with Green Bay for their offensive coordinator position last year.
LaFleur, 32, got his coaching start as an assistant at Elmhurst in 2009 after he finished his playing career there. LaFleur made the jump to the NFL as a coaching intern with the Browns in 2014. He also worked for the Falcons before joining the 49ers as an offensive assistant in 2017.
McDaniel, 36, began his coaching career as an intern with the Broncos in 2005. He’s worked as an assistant with the Texans, Redskins, Browns and Falcons before joining the 49ers in 2017 as their run-game coordinator.
