Buccaneers Re-Sign OL Evan Smith To Two-Year, $6M Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Buccaneers and veteran OL Evan Smith have agreed to terms on a new two-year, $6 million deal for him to return for the 2018 season.

Smith offers some position versatility up front for the Buccaneers, as he’s played both guard and center in recent years.

Smith, 31, originally signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent back in 2009. After four years in Green Bay, Smith signed a four-year, $14.25 million contract with the Buccaneers back in 2014.

Smith played out the final year of his contract and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Smith appeared in 15 games for the Buccaneers and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 29 guard out of 77 qualifying players.
