According to Mike Jurecki, the Cardinals plan to target Panthers G Andrew Norwell in free agency along with QB Kirk Cousins.
Jurecki says that Arizona is considering the kind of offers it will take to land both free agents, which will tie up a lot of money for them over the first few days of free agency. Even so, Jurecki adds that the Cardinals would also like to retain some of their own free agents.
Most of the buzz surrounding Norwell has centered around the Giants, but it appears as though they could have some immediate competition for his services in the coming days.
Norwell, 26, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State back in 2014. He finished a three-year, $1,542,000 deal with Carolina before agreeing to a one-year restricted tender worthย $2.746 millionย for the 2017 season.
In 2017, Norwell appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 3 guard out of 77 qualifying players.
We have him featured in our Top 100 ย โ 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
