Cardinals Sign TE Joseph Fauria, Place TE Ifeanyi Momah On I.R.

Update:

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cardinals have signed TE Joseph Fauria to a contract.

  • Rapoport adds that the Cardinals will send TE Ifeanyi Momah to season-ending injured reserve following the torn meniscus he sustained.

Former Lions TE Joseph Fauria was at the Arizona Cardinalsโ€™ facility on Wednesday, according to Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910.

This comes after Mike Garafolo reported that the Cardinals lost TE Ifeanyi Momah to a torn meniscus that will require surgery.

Fauria, 25, was unfortunately among the Lionsโ€™ final roster cuts this past weekend, as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players. He worked out for the Giants earlier in the week, but left without a deal.

In 2014, Fauria appeared in seven games and caught six passes for 74 yards receiving and a touchdown for the Lions.

Momah, 25, originally signed a three-year contract with the Eagles back in 2013. However, he lasted just a few months in Philadelphia before he was placed on waivers.

Momah later signed a future/reserve contract with the Lions before catching on with the Cardinals on a one-year deal

He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

  1. I hope the coach and GM know what theyโ€™re doing. Some of these signings and players that were cut leave me scratching my head, especially at QB.
